Hot Tub & Spa Cleaning - Contra Costa County - (925) 269-9399
Spa cleaning, like pool cleaning, is very important to take care of if you are planning on using it anytime soon. Keeping algae from growing in a hot tub, Jacuzzi, or spa, is possibly even more important than pools because since they are usually much smaller, if you are in an algae filled spa, you are certainly unable to avoid visible algae. Keeping your cover on takes care of a ton of the normal algae problems and prevents them from occurring. But it’s also important to regularly clean it and check on it’s pH level as needed so when you feel like jumping in, it’s ready and clean for you. If you are reluctant to cleaning for too long of a period of time, an algae outbreak could bloom and you may have to drain your spa, clean it, give it a good chlorine or acid wash with a scrubbing, and then refill it. When this is necessary, it’s usually a very long activity that could soak up your day, and soak up your clothes while you deal with it. Luckily, there are local pool guys near you that can clean your spa as regularly as needed. Call us at (925) 269-9399

Common issues that require major spa cleaning are usually due to algae problem, having filters that desperately need to be cleaned or filters replaced. Regular spa maintenance is a must, especially during the times you plan on using it. Each time you take the cover off, it leaves the potential for contaminants to infect your spa, and if you don’t have chemicals or regular cleaning taking place, then algae can start to multiply without you knowing, and then BOOM! You have an algae outbreak and need big time cleaning help.
There are three main types of algae that occur in hot tubs, Jacuzzi, spas, and above ground pools. Green algae, yellow algae (mustard algae), and black algae. Green algae is the most common occurring, and the easiest to get rid of, if you have the right chemicals and proper cleaning habits to do so. Green algae will change the color of the water and stick to the surface softly, but can grow at a fast pace. Yellow algae is a rare occurrence, but usually the most difficult to get rid of, and you will need some strong chemicals to if you don’t want to drain your pool. The black algae of death is bad stuff. Usually it will form in the darker areas of the water what it is harder to see, and it will often stick hard to the surface and will take a lot of scrubbing to vanquish. It’s important you are using strong algae chemicals to kill any of the bacteria that will allow it to regrow again. We are very familiar with cleaning algae in spas and have encountered all different types, and all different levels of bad algae to know our way around how to get rid of it and return spas, Jacuzzis, hot tubs, and pools back into working order.
